Age Related Macular Degeneration

As the name suggests this is an age related progressive retinal degeneration of the macula in either one or both eyes. Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in the United States of individuals over the age of 65. There are two forms of ARMD 1) the more common and least visually devastating Dry ARMD and 2) least common and more visually significant Wet ARMD. While there is no cure for either form of ARMD, there are treatments that can restore some usable vision to the affected eye or eyes. For more information click here.
